Rita Marley, a widower of the Legendary Robert Nesta Marley, is still carrying on his legacy after his death of over three and a half decade. A queen, a mother of six and it is also said she has adopted 35 children in Ethiopia, a grandmother. What a blessing to be able pass through so many stages and still looking this beautiful.

She was a member of a trio the group the I Threes alongside Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt backing up vocalists for Bob Marley and the Wailers. Reading her abio “No Woman No Cry”, Rita explain her strive to success and still being a mother and a wife, she would put herself in any craft as the strong headed independent woman as she is it no surprise of her achievement.

She founded the Rita Marley Foundation in 2000 a non-governmental organization alleviating poverty and hunger in developing countries. Rita is also the Founder and Chairperson of the Robert Marley Foundation, Bob Marley Trust, and the Bob Marley Group of Companies. She was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government, and in 2010 received the Marcus Garvey Lifetime Award. She was made an honorary citizen of Ghana by the Ghanaian government. In November 2015 Marley was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree by the University of the West Indies.
